David Jacobs, D.V.M.

Practicing veterinary medicine fulfills my childhood dream to care for animals. Diagnosing and treating my patients who can't "speak" appeals to me since it employs a knowledge of medicine with the ability to solve puzzles (I still do crosswords and sudokus constantly). I enjoy all aspects of veterinary medicine but have a special interest in surgery and endocrinology.

After graduating from The Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1974, I have practiced small animal medicine in the Washington area. My wife, Lynne, a recreation therapist in Baltimore City Public Schools and I, with our two sons, moved to the City of Falls Church in 1982 shortly before I joined and became a partner in the Falls Church Animal Hospital. Having been a member and chairman of the Business Development Commission and currently a member of the City Employee Review Board keeps me involved with the city. My wife introduced me to Kundalini yoga which helps deal with life's stresses such as being a Redskin fan.

Caroline Chamarande, D.V.M.

Dr. Caroline Chamarande received here doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine (Virginia Tech). She joined Falls Church Animal Hospital in 1989. Dr. Chamarande is a member of the Veterinary Honor Society, Phi Zeta; the American Animal Hospital Association; the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association and the DC Academy of Veterinary Medicine.

Originally from France, with the accent to prove it, Dr. Chamarande and her husband have three children. When not at work, you'll find her at home with them and attending to the many family pets.

Amy Sachs Yam, D.V.M.

Dr. Amy Sachs Yam is originally from Syracuse, New York, but relocated to Falls Church after veterinary school. She completed her undergraduate and professional degrees at Cornell University, graduating with her DVM in 1998. She is active in many professional associations such as the Northern Virginia Veterinary Medical Association, the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of Feline Practitioners. She also served on the Recent Graduate Task Force and Leadership Council for the American Animal Hospital Association and is Immediate Past-President of the DC Academy of Veterinary Medicine.

She has worked a Falls Church Animal Hospital since June 1998 and has an active interest in canine and feline endocrinology and internal medicine. Outside the office, Dr. Yam enjoys spending time with her husband Kevin, her two sons Benjamin and Mitchell, and her three catsTilly, Scout and Jem. One of her favorite aspects of working at Falls Church Animal Hospital is living in the community that she serves. Even her husband is amazed when she goes for a walk on the WO&D trail and recognizes the dog before she recognizes the human family member!

Michele Kelly, D.V.M.

Dr. Michele Myers Kelly is a 2002 graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine in Gainsville, Florida. Dr. Kelly relocated to the Northern Virginia area with her husband and three children and has worked at Falls Church Animal Hospital since graduation in 2002. Her special interests include exotic animals medicine, dermatology, ultrasound and internal medicine.

Dr. Kelly thoroughly enjoys living and working in the City of Falls Church and appreciates the wonderful clients and pets that make up the Falls Church Animal Hospital community. Her family consists of her husband William, three bipedal children, Savannah, Dakota and Breccan; and many 4-legged family members including Arden, a very sweet 15-year old Malamute/Shepherd mix who was rescued from the Miami-Dade animal shelter, Diva, a spunky 14-year old Bearded Collie mix who was Dr. Kelly's first "child," and a bearded dragon named Rex.

There have been up to 8 rescue animals at a time living with the Kelly clan, the most recent being Brown a sweet, older Chocolate Lab who was able to enjoy one final year chasing the balls in the backyard with Michele's brother Mark, who also resides with the Kelly clan. When not in the office, Dr. Kelly enjoys visiting with her children which shuffling them to their various activities, taking yoga classes and working out at the gym, hiking, rock-climbing with her husband, skiing, Friday night movies at home with the family, gardening and reading.
